The Garrison Curling Club is proud to present Calgary's:
Post-Secondary Intramural Curling League
University and college students now have the greater ability to curl at a low rate, while meeting/competing against other players across the city.
It was created to help grow the longevity of the game, and supplement the current lack of Calgary curling college/university opportunities. It’s seen as the first step to creating a sustainable post-secondary league, giving both new and experienced players across the city the greater capacity to curl.
The league is also a great outlet for curlers who: don’t know how to get started, don’t have teams, or who can’t afford or commit to joining a traditional league. It’s not only a chance for those who have never curled before to try it, but it also gives competitive curlers a new practice/scouting opportunity.
The Garrison is committed to the success of our Calgary college/university teams. As more people get involved, we are looking to help grow player and team capacity further, by exploring future development/coaching programs.
Right now, the league offers both an optional one day Learn to Curl training day and an end of season bonspiel. The introductory crash course is recommended for beginners, while the Bragging Rights Bonspiel will feature a day of food, entertainment and the chance to earn the top school title.
